Advantages
Stylish “Jazz” series design for presentation – The vintage crackle-finished border and premium look of the Jazz line give a more upscale presentation compared to plain utility bowls, allowing it to be used not just for utility service but for nicer buffet or restaurant set-up
Disadvantages
Higher upfront cost / logistical needs – Given its size, capacity and commercial quality, the cost per unit will be higher than smaller bowls, and you’ll need adequate storage/handling; also the rim-fill capability implies heavy weight when full, meaning lifting/serving ergonomics need consideration.
Comment
Good heavy-duty bowl — strong, easy to clean, and our guests like the look. Just wish we had a version that could go into the microwave when we need to reheat
Joshua Howard
Advantages
Durable, commercial-grade melamine construction – It’s made from BPA-free melamine, commercial-grade, break- and chip-resistant, dishwasher safe, and NSF listed, making it suitable for high turnover or institutional use.
Disadvantages
Large size may be excessive for small operations – The 18″ × 6″ size is quite large and may be over-sized for a smaller café, limited storage space or smaller clientele; storing or handling may be more bulky.
Comment
Really solid piece for large-volume service, but for everyday use in our small bistro it feels a little too big and takes up too much storage space

We added this giant Thunder Group bowl to our buffet line for catered events and it’s been great — the size means we refill far less often and the Jazz finish looks better than our old plastic bowls

Advantages
Very large capacity & impressive size – At 18″ in diameter and 6″ deep, it accommodates large amounts of salads, sides, fruits or buffet items; the rim-fill capacity is up to 15.5 quarts (496 oz) which gives flexibility in heavy-use settings.
Disadvantages
Not suitable for microwave or oven use – As with most melamine dinnerware, it is explicitly noted as not for microwave use, so if reheating directly in the bowl is required, this product cannot serve that function.
