Advantages
Neutral white stoneware style and matching collection — The product is indicated as white, part of the “Empire Stoneware” line (Empire collection) which may match other pieces (dinner plates, bowls) for a coordinated table setting, giving a clean, versatile look
Disadvantages
White plate may show wear/chipping more clearly over time — While white is versatile and clean, plain white stoneware can more visibly show utensil scuffs, glaze crazing, cracks/chips, or staining compared to patterned or colored plates. In a hospitality environment where aesthetics matter, this could degrade perceived quality unless well maintained.
Comment
From an operations perspective: the bulk packaging (24 pieces) and being part of a matching stoneware line made inventory simpler. We are however going to monitor how the plates hold up over time (chips, edge wear) given the white finish and stoneware material.

Advantages
Appropriate size for salads/appetisers — The plate is listed as 8.5″ (≈ 21.6 cm) diameter, which is well suited for a salad plate or smaller entrée in a hospitality or restaurant setting.
Disadvantages
Limited detail on durability and finish publicly available — The main specification list gives size and pack, but lacks deeper information (plate thickness, rim height, stoneware grade, chip-resistance, stacking height) which are important in high-turnover hospitality settings
Comment
We purchased the 8½″ Empire Stoneware salad plates (24-pack) for our boutique guest-house. Guests remarked that the plate size felt generous for our starter salads and the white finish matched our dinner plates nicely. On the other hand, we found that due to the plate’s diameter and stacking, our dish-rack spacing needed adjustment and staff commented they felt the plates were a bit heavier than previous versions
